Initially I preferred canvas, but my more recent works are all made on wooden panels because this undergroud suits better my detailed way of painting. The preparation of the canvas and panels is according to a classical recipe of rabbit glue and chalk. After the preparation the drawing is transferred by pencil. Subsequently, a detailed underpaining is made in several layers caseine-tempera, followed by one or more layers oil paint. The caseine paint and sometimes also the oil paint is self made from pure pigments. Hereby I make use of old recipees from various old textbooks. During the creation of my work I prefer to listen to classical music.
